Oral Polio Vaccine (UNEPI)
The Polio vaccine is administered to prevent polio. Polio is a disease caused by the polio virus that can be spread from one person to another and can cause paralysis to an individual.
NB: This vaccine is provided freely by the government.
This vaccine is given orally (through the mouth) or via injection.
A child receives a minimum of 4 doses.
- At birth.
- At 6 weeks.
- 10 weeks.
- and at 14 weeks.
UGX 0DPT Vaccine (UNEPI)
This combined dose is given to prevent against Diphtheria, Pertussis, Haemophilus Influenzae b and Hepatitis B.
NB: This is a non-government vaccine.
Given by injection.
A minimum of 3 doses.
- 1st dose- at 6 weeks.
- 2nd dose- 10 weeks.
- 3rd dose- 14 weeks.

Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccine provides protection against serious infections associated with severe pneumococcal disease. It contains antibodies to capsular polysaccharide antigens and provide serotype-specific protection for serotypes most commonly associated with severe pneumococcal disease.

Adult Vaccinations-Tetanus Toxoid. Administration of the Tetanus Toxoid shot (T.T) to adults including; pregnant woman, women of reproductive age among others.
UGX 0HPV Cervical Cancer Vaccine (UNEPI)
HPV Vaccine is used to prevent against Human Papillomavirus that causes cervical cancer. It is primarily recommended for all girls and boys aged 9 – 12 years.
NB: This vaccine is provided freely by the government and strictly for this age group.
Given by injection.

- 1st dose- At 9 years.
- 2nd dose- 6 months after 1st dose.
